A little bit about Beth…
Beth Gillespie is an editorial and children’s illustrator, passionate about using her skills to make educational and non-fictional books more engaging for young learners.
Beth creates accurate, detailed drawings with a theatrical flair. She works with traditional materials, ink and watercolours, and when creating the final illustration, opts to go straight to linework using a paintbrush and ink. This approach gives her illustrations a sense of freedom and spontaneity, resulting in a looser, more expressive style.
Beth’s illustrations have most recently featured in publications such as Derwent Press Magazine, Tongue in Trees and Leftlion Magazine. She has also created her own line of products featuring her illustrations which she sells at local markets and are available on her website.
Going forward, Beth would like to use her skills to the create engaging and fun, non fiction and educational illustrations to help support children to foster a love of learning. She is currently working towards her MA Illustration at Falmouth University and is working to develop an illustration framework that supports the learning needs of children with Autism.
